Grilled Beef Noodle Bowl Recipe

For the Grilled Beef:

  • 1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper

For the Noodle Bowl:

  • 8 oz (225g) rice vermicelli noodles, cooked according to package instructions
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or mixed salad greens
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 1 cucumber, julienned
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
  • Lime wedges for serving

For the Dressing:

  • 3 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Thai bird chili, minced (adjust to taste)


1. Marinate and Grill the Beef:

  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper. Add sliced beef and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated beef slices for 2-3 minutes per side or until cooked to your liking. Set aside.

2. Prepare the Noodles:

  • Cook rice vermicelli noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking. Set aside.

  • In serving bowls, arrange a portion of cooked rice vermicelli noodles. Top with shredded lettuce, bean sprouts, julienned cucumber, julienned carrot, and grilled beef slices.

4. Make the Dressing:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together fish sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and minced Thai bird chili.

5. Serve:

  • Drizzle the dressing over the noodle bowl.
  • Garnish with chopped cilantro and mint leaves.
  • Serve with lime wedges on the side.
