Grilled Pork Belly Rolls

Grilled pork roll

Ingredients:

  • 200g pork belly, sliced
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp five-spice powder
  • Rice paper
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Cucumber, julienned
  • Carrot, julienned
  • Mint leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • Sweet and sour fish sauce

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, marinate the pork belly with fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, honey, garlic, black pepper, and five-spice powder. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the pork belly until cooked through and slightly charred, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. To assemble the rolls, dip a piece of rice paper in warm water until it softens. Place the rice paper on a plate or cutting board.
  4. Arrange a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of the rice paper. Top with a few slices of grilled pork belly, cucumber, carrot, mint leaves, and coriander leaves.
  5. Fold the sides of the rice paper inwards and then roll the rice paper tightly, tucking in the fillings as you go. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Serve the rolls with sweet and sour fish sauce for dipping.
